CHURCH’S VINTAGE DERBY – BLACK – UK 8 (WIDE) – GERRARD – EXCELLENT CONDITION
A very fine, vintage pair of Custom Grade, three-eyelet plain-front derby shoes in beautiful black calf leather from Church’s. They are in excellent used condition, overall – notwithstanding a little creasing across the vamps and the odd surface mark here and there (see photos).
In my opinion, although modern-day Church’s shoes are still very desirable, well-made and fashioned from first-class materials, they are not quite as exceptional as those from some years ago. So, if you can find a pair of vintage Church’s in really nice condition then you are probably finding some of the nicest shoes around.
The style is ‘Gerrard’ – an elegant and traditional derby – never out-of-place. This pair were formed on the 273 Last in order to give the wider fitting.
The width fitting is ‘H’ – which is a ‘wide’ width fitting.
The shoes feature calf leather uppers, lightweight leather / linen linings, leather soles and all the hand-built quality one would expect from Church.
Wonderful quality shoes from a traditional English shoemaker.
