CHURCH’S VINTAGE BROGUES – BLACK – UK 9 – NENE – EXCELLENT CONDITION
A very fine pair of vintage full-brogue oxford shoes in beautiful black bookbinder leather from Church’s. They are in excellent used condition overall - notwithstanding a little creasing across the vamps and the odd surface mark here and there (see photos). This pair seem to have had the heels built up by some 50 mm (on each shoe) and have been professionally fitted with non-slip rubber soles and rubber heel pieces and have been very little worn since then.
In my opinion, although modern-day Church’s shoes are still very desirable, well-made and fashioned from first-class materials, they are not quite as exceptional as those from some years ago. So, if you can find a pair of vintage Church’s in really nice condition then you are probably finding some of the nicest shoes around.
The width fitting is ‘G’ – which is the ‘wider than standard’ width fitting.
The style is ‘Nene’ – a beautifully proportioned oxford design - this pair were formed on the popular 73 Last.
The shoes feature leather soles, bookbinder leather uppers, full leather linings and all the build-quality that one expects from this traditional English shoemaker.
