JOSEPH CHEANEY VINTAGE DERBY – BROWN / TAN - UK 8 – WALMER – WORN ONCE
A super (and very rare) vintage pair of Joseph Cheaney three-eyelet, plain-front derby shoes in beautiful brown / tan calf leather – never out-of-place. They are in superb used condition overall – notwithstanding a little creasing across the vamps and the odd surface mark here and there (see photos) – in fact, these shoes are barely worn at all – I would estimate on just one occasion – ever !!
In my opinion, although modern-day Cheaney shoes are still very desirable, well-made and fashioned from first-class materials, they are not quite as exceptional as those from some years ago. So, if you can find a pair of vintage Cheaney’s in really nice condition then you are probably finding some of the nicest shoes around.
The width fitting is ‘EE’ - which is the ‘standard’ width fitting – so, equivalent to a modern-day ‘F’ fitting.
The style is ‘Walmer’ - a beautifully proportioned three-eyelet derby – never out-of-place and easily dressed-up or dressed-down. This is a very rare design to see, so you will be most unlikely to ever meet anyone else wearing the same shoes as you - always a nice feeling, I think.
The shoes feature leather soles, calf leather uppers and lightweight leather / linen linings.
Top quality from this traditional English shoemaker.
