JOSEPH CHEANEY VINTAGE BROGUES – BROWN / TAN – UK 8 – AVON – EXCELLENT CONDITION
A very fine pair of vintage full-brogue oxford shoes in beautiful brown / tan calf leather from Joseph Cheaney – perfect town & country footwear. They are in excellent used condition overall – notwithstanding some creasing across the vamps and the odd surface mark here and there (see photos).
In my opinion, although modern-day Cheaney shoes are still very desirable, well-made and fashioned from first-class materials, they are not quite as exceptional as those from some years ago. So, if you can find a pair of vintage Cheaney’s in really nice condition then you are probably finding some of the nicest shoes around.
The style is ‘Avon AS’ – a traditional town-and-country oxford brogue – beautifully proportioned.
The width fitting is ‘E’ – which is a ‘narrower-than-standard’ width fitting.
The shoes feature leather soles, calf leather uppers, lightweight leather / linen linings and all the build-quality that one expects from this traditional English shoemaker.
