CHURCH’S VINTAGE DERBY – BROWN / TAN – UK 7.5 – SHANNON – UNWORN CONDITION
A super pair of vintage Custom Grade, plain-front derby shoes in beautiful sandalwood bookbinder leather from Church’s. I have listed them as ‘used’ because they may have been tried-on, but I don’t actually think that they have been (see photos). Please notethese shoes are not ‘subs’.
In my opinion, although modern-day Church’s shoes are still very desirable, well-made and fashioned from first-class materials, they are not quite as exceptional as those from some years ago. So, if you can find a pair of vintage Church’s in really nice condition then you are probably finding some of the nicest shoes around.
The style is ‘Shannon’ – an elegant and traditional derby – never out-of-place. This pair were formed on the wonderful 224 Last which gives perfect derby proportions in my own opinion. This design is still very much part of Church’s current range (though not off the 224 last) – and they retail at around the £790 mark.
The width fitting is ‘F’ – which is a ‘standard’ width fitting.
The shoes feature bookbinder leather uppers, full leather linings, leather soles and all the hand-built quality one would expect from Church.
