CHURCH'S VINTAGE DERBY – BLACK – UK 9.5 (NARROW) – JERMYN - EXCELLENT CONDITION
A very fine (and rare) pair of vintage Custom Grade three-eyelet, plain–front derby shoes in black calf leather from Church. They are in excellent used condition, overall – notwithstanding a little creasing across the vamps and some surface scratching around the heels (see photos). This pair have been professionally fitted with non-slip rubber over-soles and are unworn since.
In my opinion, although modern-day Church shoes are still very desirable, well-made and fashioned from first-class materials, they are not quite as exceptional as those from some years ago. So, if you can find a pair of vintage Church’s in really nice condition then you are probably finding some of the nicest shoes around.
The width fitting is ‘D’ - which is a narrow width fitting. The actual measurements are:-
Outer sole (heel to toe) c. 30.2 CM
Width (widest point) c. 9.8 CM
The style is ‘Jermyn IV’ – very elegant and perfect for dressing-up or dressing-down. This is a rare design, so you will be most unlikely to ever meet anyone else wearing the same shoes as you - always a nice feeling, I think. This pair were built on the popular 73 Last.
The shoes feature calf leather uppers, semi-calf leather linings, close channelled leather soles (with brand new non-slip rubber over-soles) and all the hand-built quality one would expect from Church.
