JOSEPH CHEANEY VINTAGE DERBY – BROWN – UK 10 – CARRON - EXCELLENT CONDITION
A very fine pair of vintage Joseph Cheaney three-eyelet plain-front derby shoes in beautiful dark brown Royal calf leather. They are in excellent used condition, overall – notwithstanding some creasing across the vamps and the odd surface mark here and there (see photos). This pair feature dark green calf leather linings – only you will know once they are on, of course, but a neat touch all the same – and have been professionally fitted with rubber over-soles and,very recently, new ‘Phillips’ rubber heel pieces. The shoes are in their original box complete with the original ‘Cheaney’ dust bags.
In my opinion, although modern-day Cheaney shoes are still very desirable, well-made and fashioned from first-class materials, they are not quite as exceptional as those from some years ago. So, if you can find a pair of vintage Cheaney’s in really nice condition then you are probably finding some of the nicest shoes around.
But, please remember, these are not new so do not bid on them if you want a pair of completely unmarked shoes – they will cost considerably more !!
The style is ‘Carron’ – elegant and traditional.
The width fitting is ‘F’ - which is the ‘standard’ width fitting
The shoes feature ‘Royal’ calf leather uppers, full leather linings and leather soles (with rubber over-soles).
