JOSEPH CHEANEY VINTAGE DERBY – BROWN – UK 7 – ALTON – UNWORN CONDITION
A super pair of vintage Joseph Cheaney three-eyelet, plain-front derby shoes in beautiful brown / mahogany (?) calf leather – never out-of-place. They are in superb condition and I have listed them as ‘used’ because they may have been tried-on, but I don’t actually think that they have been.
In my opinion, although modern-day Cheaney shoes are still very desirable, well-made and fashioned from first-class materials, they are not quite as exceptional as those from some years ago. So, if you can find a pair of vintage Cheaneys in really nice condition then you are probably finding some of the nicest shoes around.
But, please remember, these are not new so do not bid on them if you want a pair of completely unmarked shoes – they will cost considerably more !!
The width fitting is ‘E’ - which is a ‘narrower-than-standard’ width fitting.
The style is ‘Alton 2’ - a traditional three-eyelet derby – beautifully proportioned. This is quite a rare design to find - so, you will be very unlikely to ever meet anyone else wearing the same shoes as you – always a nice feeling in my opinion.
The shoes feature leather soles, calf leather uppers and lightweight leather / linen linings.
