CHURCH’S VINTAGE MONKSTRAP – BLACK - UK 9 – CANON – EXCELLENT CONDITION
A very fine, vintage pair of Custom Grade single monk-strap shoes in beautiful black bookbinder leather from Church’s – perfect for dressing-up or dressing-down. They are in excellent used condition overall – notwithstanding a little creasing across the vamps and the odd surface mark here and there (see photos). This is a rare design to find – featuring black buckles, rather than the more frequently seen silver or gold - so, you will be very unlucky to ever meet anyone else wearing the same shoes as you – always a nice feeling, I think.
In my opinion, although modern-day Church’s shoes are still very desirable, well-made and fashioned from first-class materials, they are not quite as exceptional as those from some years ago. So, if you can find a pair of vintage Church’s in really nice condition then you are probably finding some of the nicest shoes around.
But, please remember, these are not new so do not bid on them if you want a pair of completely unmarked shoes – they will cost considerably more !!
The style is ‘Canon’ – beautifully proportioned; this pair were built on the rare 50 Last.
The width fitting is ‘F’ - which is the ‘standard’ width fitting.
The shoes feature leather soles, bookbinder leather uppers, black buckles and full leather linings – plus all the build-quality that one expects from this traditional English shoemaker.
