JOSEPH CHEANEY VINTAGE VELDTSCHOEN DERBY – BROWN / TAN - UK 8 – VERY GOOD CONDITION
A fine pair of vintage Joseph Cheaney derby ‘tramping’ shoes in brown / tan aniline calf leather – perfect town-and-country footwear. They are in very good used condition overall – notwithstanding some creasing across the vamps, the odd surface mark here and there and some wear to the ‘Commando’ soles (see photos). These shoes feature the weather resistant veldtschoen construction, bellows tongues and ‘Itshide’ ‘Commando’ rubber soles.
In my opinion, although modern-day Cheaney shoes are still very desirable, well-made and fashioned from first-class materials, they are not quite as exceptional as those from some years ago. So, if you can find a pair of vintage Cheaneys in really nice condition then you are probably finding some of the nicest shoes around.
But, please remember, these are not new so do not bid on them if you want a pair of completely unmarked shoes – they will cost considerably more !!
The width fitting is ‘F’ – which is the ‘standard’ width fitting.
The shoes feature ‘Itshide’ ‘Commando’ rubber soles, aniline calf leather uppers, veldtschoen construction, bellows tongues and full leather linings.
Top quality from this traditional English shoemaker.
