CHURCH’S VINTAGE MONK STRAP – BLACK - UK 8 – CANON – UNWORN CONDITION
A gorgeous (and rare) pair of vintage, Custom Grade single monk-strap shoes in beautiful black calf leather from Church’s – perfect for dressing-up or dressing-down. They are in immaculate condition, overall – I have listed them as ‘used’ because they may have been tried-on, but I don’t actually think that they have been.This is a very rare design to find – with black buckles – and you will be extremely unlucky to ever meet anyone else wearing the same shoes as you – always a good feeling, I think. This pair were originally sold as ‘subs’ – possibly due to a a knick on the vamp of the left shoe, towards the toe end (see photos).
In my opinion, although modern-day Church’s shoes are still very desirable, well-made and fashioned from first-class materials, they are not quite as exceptional as those from some years ago. So, if you can find a pair of vintage Church’s in really nice condition then you are probably finding some of the nicest shoes around.
The width fitting is ‘F’ – which is the ‘standard’ width fitting.
The style is ‘Canon’ – a beautifully proportioned single monk design featuring black coloured buckles. This pair were built on the rare 50 Last.
The shoes feature leather soles, calf leather uppers and full leather linings.
