JOSEPH CHEANEY VINTAGE DERBY – BROWN / TAN - UK 8.5 – LATIMER – EXCELLENT CONDITION
A very fine, vintage pair of four-eyelet, plain-front derby shoes in beautiful brown / tan grained calf leather from Joseph Cheaney – perfect for town and country wear. They are in excellent used condition overall - notwithstanding a little creasing across the vamps and the odd surface mark here and there (see photos).
In my opinion, although modern-day Cheaney shoes are still very desirable, well-made and fashioned from first-class materials, they are not quite as exceptional as those from some years ago. So, if you can find a pair of vintage Cheaney’s in really nice condition then you are probably finding some of the nicest shoes around.
But, please remember, these are not new so do not bid on them if you want a pair of completely unmarked shoes – they will cost considerably more !!
The width fitting is EE’ – which is the ‘standard’ width fitting (equivalent to a modern-day ‘F’ fitting).
The style is ‘Latimer’ – a classically proportioned town-and–country derby.
The shoes feature leather soles, weather-resistant storm welts, grained calf leather uppers, lightweight leather / linen linings and super build-quality.
