CHURCH’S VINTAGE BROGUES – BLACK - UK 10 – EXCELLENT CONDITION
A super (and very rare) pair of vintage full-brogue derby shoes in beautiful scotch-grained calf leather from Church’s – perfect for dressing-up or dressing-down. This pair were made for, and retailed by, ‘Alan McAfee, London’. They are in excellent used condition, overall – notwithstanding a little creasing across the vamps and the odd surface mark here and there (see photos). These shoes have been refurbished by Church’s – so new soles and quarter-rubber leather heels (which have been lightly scored to reduce the chance of slipping) – and have been worn on just one occasion since then. This design is very rare to find - so, you will be very unlucky to ever meet anyone else wearing the same shoes as you – always a nice feeling, I think.
In my opinion, although modern-day Church’s shoes are still very desirable, well-made and fashioned from first-class materials, they are not quite as exceptional as those from some years ago. So, if you can find a pair of vintage Church’s in really nice condition then you are probably finding some of the nicest shoes around.
The width fitting is ‘E’ – which is the ‘narrower-than-standard’ width fitting.
The shoes feature scotch-grained calf leather uppers, full leather linings, leather soles and all the build-quality that one expects from this traditional English shoemaker - gorgeous
