JOSEPH CHEANEY VINTAGE MONK STRAP – BLACK - UK 8 – BANFF - EXCELLENT CONDITION
A very fine, vintage pair of Joseph Cheaney single monk-strap shoes in beautiful black calf leather – perfect for dressing-up or dressing-down. This pair are from Cheaney’s ‘Tweed’ range. They are in excellent used condition overall – notwithstanding a little creasing across the vamps and the odd surface mark here and there (see photos).
In my opinion, although modern-day Cheaney shoes are still very desirable, well-made and fashioned from first-class materials, they are not quite as exceptional as those from some years ago. So, if you can find a pair of vintage Cheaneys in really nice condition then you are probably finding some of the nicest shoes around.
But please remember, these are not new so do not bid on them if you want a pair of completely unmarked shoes – they will cost considerably more !!
The style is ‘Banff II’ – a beautifully proportioned monk-strap design featuring gold-coloured buckles.
The width fitting is ‘G’ - which is the ‘wider-than-standard’ width fitting.
The shoes feature leather soles, calf leather uppers, lightweight leather / linen linings - and all the build-quality that one expects from this traditional English shoemaker.
