CROCKETT & JONES VINTAGE VELDTSCHOEN DERBY – BROWN / TAN – UK 7 – DUNDEE - SUPERB CONDITION
A super (and very rare) pair of vintage three-eyelet plain-front derby shoes in beautiful brown / tan ‘exotic’ grained leather from C&J – ideal for town & country wear. They are in superb used condition, showing all the signs of ‘careful wearing and good caring’ (e.g. use of shoe trees and good quality cleaning products). In fact, these shoes appear to have been kept in some sort of ‘hibernation’ (or long-term storage, at least) and have been worn on very few occasions I would say. This design is very rare to see - so, you will be extremely unlikely to ever meet anyone else wearing the same shoes as you – always a nice feeling, I think.
The style is ‘Dundee’ – traditional derby shaping, never out of place and a ‘proper’ country shoe – perfect for dressing-up or dressing-down. Built on the 254 Last.
The width fitting is ‘E’ - which is the ‘standard’ width fitting.
The shoes feature the very hard-wearing ‘Itshide’ Commando rubber soles, ‘exotic’ grained leather uppers, full leather linings, weather-resistant veldtschoen construction and all the build-quality that one expects from this traditional English shoemaker.
