CHURCH’S VINTAGE BROGUES – BROWN - UK 8 – BURWOOD – EXCELLENT CONDITION
A very fine pair of vintage Custom Grade full-brogue oxford shoes in beautiful brown bookbinder leather from Church’s – easily dressed-up or dressed-down. They are in excellent used condition overall - notwithstanding a little creasing across the vamps and the odd surface mark here and there (see photos). Top quality leather in this colourway always develops a beautiful patina over time – and these shoes are doing very nicely.
In my opinion, although modern-day Church’s shoes are still very desirable, well-made and fashioned from first-class materials, they are not quite as exceptional as those from some years ago. So, if you can find a pair of vintage Church’s in really nice condition then you are probably finding some of the nicest shoes around.
The width fitting is ‘F’ – which is the ‘standard’ width fitting.
The style is ‘Burwood’ – an iconic full-brogue design and one of Church’s best known shoes. This pair were formed on the 81 Last. This design is still very much part of Church’s current range – and they retail at around the £720 mark.
The shoes feature bookbinder leather uppers, lightweight leather / linen linings, leather soles and all the build-quality that one expects from this traditional English shoemaker.
