JOSEPH CHEANEY VINTAGE BROGUES – BROWN / TAN – UK 9 – AVON – VERY GOOD CONDITION
A very fine pair of vintage full-brogue oxford shoes in beautiful chestnut calf leather from Joseph Cheaney – perfect town & country footwear. They are in very good used condition overall – notwithstanding a little creasing across the vamps and the odd surface mark here and there (see photos).
In my opinion, although modern-day Cheaney shoes are still very desirable, well-made and fashioned from first-class materials, they are not quite as exceptional as those from some years ago. So, if you can find a pair of vintage Cheaney’s in really nice condition then you are probably finding some of the nicest shoes around.
But, please remember, these are not new so do not bid on them if you want a pair of completely unmarked shoes – they will cost considerably more !!
The style is ‘Avon’ – a traditional town-and-country oxford brogue – beautifully proportioned.
The width fitting is ‘G’ – which is a ‘wider-than-standard’ width fitting.
The shoes feature leather soles, calf leather uppers, lightweight leather / linen linings and all the build-quality that one expects from this traditional English shoemaker.
