JOSEPH CHEANEY VINTAGE DERBY – BLACK - UK 12 – FROME - EXCELLENT CONDITION
A very fine, vintage pair of Joseph Cheaney five-eyelet derby shoes in beautiful black calf leather. These shoes are from Cheaney’s ‘Royal Sceptre’ range. They are in excellent used condition, overall – notwithstanding a little creasing across the vamps and the odd surface mark here and there (see photos).
In my opinion, although modern-day Cheaney shoes are still very desirable, well-made and fashioned from first-class materials, they are not quite as exceptional as those from some years ago. So, if you can find a pair of vintage Cheaneys in really nice condition then you are probably finding some of the nicest shoes around.
But, please remember, these are not new so do not bid on them if you want a pair of completely unmarked shoes – they will cost considerably more !!
The width fitting is ‘F’ – which is a ‘standard’ width fitting.
The style is ‘Frome’ – a very elegant derby shoe with a neat, low side-profile and some lovely stitching work used to form a front apron.
The shoes feature leather soles, calf leather uppers and super build-quality.
Top quality from this traditional English shoemaker.
