CHURCH’S VINTAGE DERBY – BROWN / TAN – UK 7 – ELGIN - EXCELLENT CONDITION
A very fine (and very rare) vintage pair of Custom Grade cap-toe derby shoes from Church’s – perfect town-and-country footwear. They are in excellent used condition, overall – notwithstanding a little creasing across the vamps and the odd surface mark here and there – mainly near the toes (see photos). This is a very rare design to see, so you will be most unlikely to ever meet anyone else wearing the same shoes as you - always a nice feeling, I think.
In my opinion, although modern-day Church’s shoes are still very desirable, well-made and fashioned from first-class materials, they are not quite as exceptional as those from some years ago. So, if you can find a pair of vintage Church’s in really nice condition then you are probably finding some of the nicest shoes around.
The width fitting is ‘G’ - which is the ‘wider-than-standard’ width fitting. This pair were built on the 38 Last.
The style is ‘Elgin’ – a beautifully proportioned town-and-country derby.
The shoes feature calf leather uppers, full leather linings, ‘Itshide’ ‘Commando’ rubber soles, weather-resistant storm welts and all the hand-built quality one would expect from Church’s.
