CHURCH’S VINTAGE MONK STRAP – BROWN / TAN – UK 6 – STAFFORD – EXCELLENT CONDITION
A rare pair of vintage, Custom Grade monk-strap shoes in beautiful brown / tan bookbinder leather from Church’s - perfect for dressing-up or dressing-down. They are in excellent used condition overall – notwithstanding a little creasing across the vamps and the odd surface mark here and there (see photos). This design features a kilty fringe beneath the strap-and-buckle fastening and is rare to find – so you will be unlikely to ever meet anyone else wearing the same shoes as you - always a nice feeling, I think.
In my opinion, although modern-day Church’s shoes are still very desirable, well-made and fashioned from first-class materials, they are not quite as exceptional as those from some years ago. So, if you can find a pair of vintage Church’s in really nice condition then you are probably finding some of the nicest shoes around.
The width fitting is ‘F’ – which is the ‘standard’ width fitting. This pair were built on the rare 69R Last.
The style is ‘Stafford’ - an elegant design featuring a kilty fringe and strap-and-buckle fastening with a small gold-coloured buckle.
The shoes feature bookbinder leather uppers, leather soles, full leather linings and offer the usual Church’s build quality.
Relaxed, elegant style from one of England’s finest shoe makers.
