JOSEPH CHEANEY VINTAGE DERBY – BROWN / TAN - UK 8.5 – EXCELLENT CONDITION
A very fine, vintage pair of Joseph Cheaney plain-front derby shoes in beautiful ‘dark leaf’ burnished calf leather. They are in excellent used condition overall – notwithstanding a little creasing across the vamps and the odd surface mark here and there – mainly at the toes (see photos). This pair have been professionally fitted with brand new ‘Sovereign’ non-slip rubber over-soles and unworn since then.
In my opinion, although modern-day Cheaney shoes are still very desirable, well-made and fashioned from first-class materials, they are not quite as exceptional as those from some years ago. So, if you can find a pair of vintage Cheaneys in really nice condition then you are probably finding some of the nicest shoes around.
But, please remember, these are not new so do not bid on them if you want a pair of completely unmarked shoes – they will cost considerably more !!
The width fitting is ‘F’ – which is a ‘standard’ width fitting
The style is ‘Bobby III’ – a beautifully proportioned and elegant four-eyelet derby.
The shoes feature leather soles (with brand new ‘Sovereign’ non-slip rubber over-soles), burnished calf leather uppers and full leather linings.
